Internet Connectivity

It is now easier than ever to add Internet connectivity to your product. Whether you need to add an embedded web server to allow the device status to be viewed from any web browser, have email alerts sent to reports fault or other events, send/retrieve messages to a remote server, or be part of your NMS system, all of this and more is now possible at very little additional hardware cost.

Ethernet

We offer a number of different solutions to suit different needs. For very cost conscious applications, we use a micro with an integrated 10 Base-T Ethernet controller, or an external controller connected on the SPI bus. For higher speed requirements, we use micros with an integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC, or 10/100 Base-T external controllers.

TCP/IP Stacks

We mostly use Microchip's TCP/IP stack in our designs as it is scalable across all platforms from 8 to 32 bit, provides a broad range of services including HTTPS and above all else, it is free (provided it us used with a Microchip microcontrollers). We have also used a number of other stacks including those from Netburner (also a very good choice) and lwIP and Zilog.
